"Why weddings?" I get asked this question a lot and my answer is always the same.
Weddings are long, strenuous, and exhausting. By the end of the day, my back and feet are always aching, my clothes drenched in sweat.
And my heart is so full.
I love, love. I LIVE for love. As someone who wears her heart on her sleeve, being able to document raw, undying love for a couple as they join lives, is my greatest passion. I will always be the one trying to compose herself behind the camera, while I choke back the tears.
As I observed Jenny + Jeff in these raw moments of their wedding day, I knew that fate had to exist. These two were created for each other. They have been best friends for years and the way they looked at each other, as an equal partner, moved everyone to tears.
You don't come by a love like this often. Walking into this ceremony, was like walking into a room of raw, open emotion. The love these two have for each other was reflected in every heart that was included in their special day.
Every detail was carefully planned out and personal, telling the story of Jeff + Jenny and their life together. From the dragonfly cufflinks Jenny gifted to Jeff to signify his late mother, to having Jenny's childhood pastor officiate their wedding, just as she had asked him to, years prior to even meeting Jeff.
One of my favorite moments of the day is always when the Bride + Groom take a moment with each other before walking down the aisle. Jeff + Jenny decided to keep the first looks for the ceremony, but exchanged a few words, lacing fingers and calming each others' nerves.
When Jeff finally saw his bride for the first time, it almost brought everyone to their knees.
After their breathtaking exchange of vows and their first kiss as husband and wife, the two fist-bumped, and that is the moment their strong partnership shined through.
Walking back down the aisle together, their faces held their youthful excitement.. as if to say "We're finally married!"
Through the heart-warming toasts and touching first dances, every moment just confirmed their love for each other, again and again. Everyone had nothing but pure admiration for the newly wedded couple. Even through the rain, their celebration of joining their families together, was one we will never forget.
